This is a traditional "kep" shape hat with a rope and tassel made from merino lamb's wool.  The wool is sourced from a small farm and yarn company in New Zealand called Ruataniwha Dye Studio.   It has generous space, for a nice "slouch" and features a charming set of gansey motifs.   

The hat was hand knit in our studio on bamboo pins.
